 [texporter for max 7] crash

Texporter (for max 7, without service packs afaik) isn't working for me anymore since a couple of weeks.
Whenever i try to texport something, my computer freezes for a moment, the "texporter window" (where you can see the texported uv) comes up, followed by an error screen saying
"an error has occured and the application will now close", and max closes.]
It's not really a big problem since i dont use texporter alot, but it gets annoying for me and other people that i need to ask them to texport it for me

i have windows xp sp2
if more info is needed, tell me

Hi,
that's the first time this problem is reported.

what I'd suggest is to apply max7 SP1 first. SP1 has some bugs fixed for the unwrap modifier (along with many others) AFAIK. If the problem persists, provide me a simple scene and/or detailed steps to reproduce the crash. without a repro case I'm afraid I can not do much (fighting with ghosts are difficult ).

well, its not hard for me to reproduce the error since this happens every time i try to use texporter
even if i want to texport something simple, like a cube

gonna check if sp1 makes a difference

sorry for double post, but im not able to find the edit button

i've installed sp1, but it still doesn't work

oookey.

we need to narrow down the problem.
- first let's try with a simpler scene. a teapot in an empty scene. does it still crash
- if not then there may be some weirdness in your model. needs closer look.
- if it still crashes with a teapot scene then there's something else is wrong (probably your max settings, another plugin, etc).
- One of the culprits is the bitmap pager. if it's on turn that off and test again please
- does it crash if you texport in a smaller size (ex. 100x100 pixels)?

So is it SP1 that fixed the problem for simple scenes? Or were you just guessing the cube case

if it's possible for you to send me the crashing object, I can give it a closer look. mail mail addres is here

Hi,
sorry that it took so long to check it. It was Siggraph madness and I just returned back.

I checked the scene you sent to me, it's a gun model consisting of 3 objects named Cylinder01, Cylinder09 and Cylinder21.. All of the three objects were fine with Texporter in my tests (I exported 4096 x 4096). So I'm not sure what's it [:/] So it doesn't help to understand the problem you are having, it may be one of the plugins in your max.
