how can we write a .ms script that gives the objects size on the disk from a .max file.
like objects.count gives the count
objects.pos gives the position
what gives the size of the objects??

What do you mean by object size? object dimensions or memory consuption?

i mean memory size,we can get the position using the object.pos
how to get the size of objects on the memory disk

My prof. who wants me to to this told me that this can be done.She saya that we can get the objects size from the .max file

I'm not sure if she means something like vertexnumber*sizeof(vertex) + facenumber*sizeof(face) etc, but things are usually not that trivial when talking about a system where many things are tied togather. I'm also not sure "why" you need with how many bytes an object is stored in the file. (Also note that max files may be compressed internally which makes it harder to extract the figure you want)

Anyhow I don't have this knowladge tit seems, I guess your prof can guide you to the correct way better than me.
